UCLA has fired head football coach DeShaun Foster just three games into the 2025 season following a winless 0-3 start. The Bruins were outscored 108–43 in losses to Utah, UNLV, and New Mexico.

Foster, a former UCLA running back and assistant coach, took over as head coach in February 2024 after Chip Kelly’s departure. He finished his debut season with a 5-7 record, going 3-6 in Big Ten conference play.

Athletic Director Martin Jarmond released a statement acknowledging Foster’s long association with the university — as an athlete, assistant, and head coach — and thanked him for his dedication through a difficult period, particularly the transition to the Big Ten.

Die-hard UCLA fans didn’t hold back — and Barstool’s Liam Blutman laid it all out:

Tim Skipper, previously a special assistant to the head coach, will take over on an interim basis for the remainder of the 2025 season. A nationwide search for a permanent successor is underway.

Foster signed a five-year contract worth about $15 million when he was hired in 2024.

  1. This is a real shame, but I guess UCLA had to make a tough call after that 0-3 start. Hoping Skipper can steady the ship for the rest of the season! #UCLAfootball #BigTen
